Next stop NSW!

During the first week of June the inquiry focused on schools in New South Wales.

Next stop NSW!

On Monday we held meetings with Deputy Premier Prue Car and Secretary of the Department of Education Murat Dizdar.

We also held a stakeholder roundtable and including representatives from academia, Aboriginal education organisations, parents’ groups and other education stakeholders. Another roundtable was held with teachers and principals in the afternoon.

Over the next four days the inquiry visited 12 schools across NSW. These included two specific purpose schools for intensive learning support, two senior high schools, and schools providing intensive English language support to refugees and secondary and primary.

The inquiry also travelled the NSW South Coast with stops in Nowra and Bomaderry, before heading north to Tamworth.

The strengths and challenges of schools vary greatly across different regions and settings, so it's vital that we cover as much of the country as possible.
