Inquiry reaches Tasmania

This week the Schools For Our Future inquiry travelled across the Bass Strait, to see first-hand the infrastructure challenges and opportunities facing public schools in Tasmania.

 Inquiry reaches Tasmania

The visit began with a day of roundtables in Hobart, where we heard from State Education Minister Jo Palmer, Education Department representatives, and a group of education stakeholders.

The inquiry chairs then visited a range of metro and rural schools from Hobart to Launceston.

This marks the last stop in a nation-wide tour of Australia visiting every state and territory.

It's essential that we hear from communities in every part of the country, from major cities to regional and remote areas.

There's still time to have your say by making a submission to the inquiry here.

Submissions will close on Tuesday 30th June 2026.
