School Reps Hub

An important way to contribute to the Inquiry is for union members working at a school to come together and make a joint submission.

Every submission adds weight to the inquiry and helps strengthen the case for change.

The submission can be as short or as long as you like, and individuals will not be identified in the inquiry's report.

We recommend calling a member meeting at your school to gather information for your submission.

The discussion can centre on the three themes and questions asked under each theme (set out in the school submission guide).

One person can take notes on the discussion, and then the submission can be put together in a word document based on those notes.

If time is limited, you could hold a ‘submission sprint’.

The meeting starts with a short introduction about the inquiry and why it matters (5 minutes).
Members break into groups to look at one of the three themes and prepare a few dot points in response to the questions under each theme (10 minutes).
Everybody then comes back together for a quick discussion to decide whether anything is missing or what else should be included with the submission (such as photos). (5 minutes).

The answers are then emailed to the person who will collate them into a word document and upload it on the Schools For Our Future website.
